I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of letter No. 1465/97,
and beg to state in reply, that although I have been reading for the Bar, I have invariably made the state of my health my first consideration.
I therefore hope the Right Hon'ble the Secretary of State for the Colonies will sanction the extension and allow me, for the following reasons, to take my final examination on the 6th, 7th & 18th of April.
1. I have practically done the amount of reading required.
2. My health has suffered from studying for the Bar. This, I believe, is owing to the fact that during my 6 years' residence
